No more wasting time and money water washing your biodiesel. This dry-wash system now makes it affordable for the person making fuel for their personal car as well as the one supplying his business or farm.

The unique design and built in back wash system makes washing easy.

Once the glycerol and methanol have been extracted from the biodiesel simply pump the fuel through at a flow rate of 1 quart per minute. The fuel exiting is ready to use and is capable of meeting ASTM standards.

First Fuel U.S.A recommends a twin tower system referred to as a "lead and lag" system. The towers are easily connected to each other using the hardware kit that comes with each system. The lead tower is the unit doing the work. However the lag tower’s job is for final polishing and for back-up in the case that the lead tower’s resin is near exhaustion, the lag tower would complete the cleaning. This allows you to continue the wash cycle to a point that you can interrupt the process and replace the resin in the lead tower.

Each tower is designed to hold 15 lbs of Purolite (purchased separately, direct from Purolite) which can wash up to 3750 gallons of biodiesel before replacing the resin. This depends on the amount of contaminants in the unwashed biodiesel.

Facts about Purolite’s PD-206:
  • Reasonable use cost - $0.035 per gallon of B100 (Actual cost is dependent on contaminant levels in the crude bio-diesel)
  • High capacity - 1lb PUROLITE® PD 206 treats 200-250 gal of bio-diesel
  • Improves B100 quality to meet ASTM D6751 and EN I4212 specifications
  • Allows for increased production
  • Easy to implement at design stage or retrofit existing processors
  • Reduced waste water and solids generation
  • Low energy operation
  • Effective at ambient
  • Applicable to either continuous or batch operations
